I tried turning off the audio, and the thing started vibrating instead of chirping.Mophie replaced it with a second one. My first Mophie Juice Pack for iPhone 1G charged all night long, but when I attached the iPhone to it, the chirping started. Still chirps, but not as frequently as the first. By the time I got through half my work day, I had to remove the iPhone. The constant chirping was driving me crazy. It does seem to hold a charge well, but I'm not overly impressed with this product.BTW, if anyone can give me a telephone number to call Mophie, I would appreciate it. I cannot find it on their site, and multiple email requests on my part have not resulted in a tel # to call them.
The functionality of the Juice Pack is solid, but the esthetics and feel is a great disappointment. Within the first week the side rubber covers of the juice pack came un-glued. Also, the rubber type coating started fading and exposing the hard black plastic body. I do not want to deal having to wipe my hands of glue and making sure I don't lose the glued rubber side covers. BUYER BEWARE.
I bought this before I bought a battery pack with the initials RS. This offer no protection for the phone. I later purched the battery pack by RS and a Clarifi case and am so mad I spent the $100 for this. I would wait for it to go below $50 and then it would be worth buying.
This device at least doubles the iPhone battery life. It fits the phone very well, and while it does add depth to the phone, it actually makes the phone easier to grip for typing, especially widescreen.The times when I'm traveling and need the battery to avoid charging or where I can't easily find some place to charge happens to be the same times that I use the phone very frequently and drain the battery quickly. If you're traveling, flying or any other situation where recharging is really difficult, bothersome, etc. this is the device for you. This solves the problem of battery life and adds extra grip to the phone. It fits in my front jeans pocket easily.
The mophie is nice, "big", like turns your iphone into "treo big", but nice in that it really does offer a substantial extension in power. I'm guessing that leaving it on for a slow drain is preferable. Interestingly, and don't know if this is purpose, I leave it off most of the time in my travel bag. When I start to "run low" I plug in the mophie, :45 later my iPhone is charged and I can remove it with a full charge on my iPhone again (though this use case does generate some heat which i don't know is good for the batteries). On the up side, the charging circuitry seems very cool in that it uses the mophie fully first, then begins on the iPhone battery. this may save recharge cycles on the iPhone, but don't know for sure.Anyways, a big help in keeping me connected.
